xSMP's premise is quite simple: a simple survival server with additional features to make the game less of a chore and more fun.
My philosophy is that survival doesn't have to be difficult. You don't *have* to race 8,000 blocks away after death to ensure you get your items before they despawn. Simply turn on KeepInventory for yourself if you'd prefer to play the game that way. And if you don't, then leave it off as that's the default settings.
You don't have something? Maybe you need a Netherrite Smithing Template but don't want to go to a Bastion to find it. That's fine, someone may very well be auctioning one! And if you don't have enough money for it, you can auction your own valuable materials.
Outside of the Gold Standard, this server has no centralized economy, meaning the players have complete control over the value of items and materials outside of gold. We do plan to add more fun items in the future, such as an "xray machine" which will temporarily turn nearby stone and netherrack to barriers, exposing all nearby ores for a brief moment.
As of right now the server is very barebones, and we don't plan to make things too fancy. We prefer getting the basics done right than getting the advanced stuff all wrong.
