The Horde | Zombie Apocalypse | Guns | Factions | 1.21 Minecraft Server IP

Description

The most intense survival experience you will ever have...

You will find yourself actually struggling to survive on this server. Most players will be weeded out - the difficulty of surviving the apocalypse is simply too great for many to bear. You are not expected to survive, but it is very possible. You just need a far greater amount of skill.

THIS SERVER IS NOT FOR CASUAL PLAYERS
Again, you will need a high degree of skill to survive on this server. I'm talking "manhunt speedrunner" levels of skill because that is basically what it's going to be like. You will constantly be pursued by zombies in the early game, but once you push past that, a lot of that pressure will be relieved.

The Comprehensive Survival Guide:
Here's what to expect. You will spawn in with a gun, some ammo, some food, and a guidebook. If you spawn in and it happens to be night, sucks for you. Start running because zombies are faster at night. If you spawn in the day, make sure you try to get a base made out of either bricks or cobblestone. Zombies will not break bricks or cobblestone, make sure you take advantage of that. After you get set up, make sure you set your spawn, or at least write down your coords (Use the compass to see your coords). Then, start mining for minerals like iron, gold, or copper. Do NOT dispose of copper, it is an important ingredient for some guns, AND you can craft it into gold nuggets - which can be crafted into iron nuggets. There are many QoL recipes, check your recipe book. Some pretty important ones are you can craft gunpowder into coal (vice versa too), and you can cook rotten flesh to get cooked flesh (pork). Eventually, you may want something other than a pistol. You can see how to craft other guns by looking through your recipe book. They are usually located in the miscellaneous section of the recipe book (lava bucket and apple icon). Bumblebee (UMP) is a good early game pick. It uses the most common ammo (.45 ACP), and does some pretty good damage. Better guns are expensive, some requiring you to go to the nether, or obtain highly rare items like amethyst or diamonds.
Once you are confidently able to survive and thrive, even reach the nether, you are in the midgame. At this point, the immediate issue of survival is not an issue to you anymore. This is the point where you can do freely whatever you want like you might on a normal "vanilla" SMP. Expand your base, maybe even search for the end. Due to a limitation in world generation, strongholds did not generate. I have taken the liberty of placing end portal frames at several points in the underground railway system. Bravo if you can find the end. Most would not spend as much time as you might.

Play with friends! Your faction will be stronger if you have more people in it - which means more land claims, and a more impressive title. Perhaps, you and your friends might just be enough to bring a measure of peace within this desolate, broken city.

There is a factions system, and you can access it on the second page of the guidebook. It gives you the basic commands you need to claim territory as your own. The focus of the server is not solely on factions however, it is mainly there so people can claim land. You do need faction power to maintain land, but you can gain it by getting XP or killing players (much more significant XP boost). Do not prioritize the factions aspect of the server UNTIL you are fully set up and thriving. Also, the only 2 things land claiming will do is prevent block breaking and prevent explosions. It will not prevent people from stealing from your chests or opening doors. Make sure you lock them away in a safe place.

Will I need mods?
No! You do not need any mods to join this server. All you need to do is accept a resource pack. Make sure you are using a reasonably new Java Edition version. Minecraft 1.19-1.21.2 will work perfectly.
